AMANDINE & THÉO AT LES PRAIRIES DE L’ENCRÊME
Amandine and Théo celebrated their wedding at Les Prairies de l’Encrême in Céreste. The galleries bring together the preparations, their visit to the town hall, the outdoor ceremony and portraits in the lavender. The drinks reception and evening party continue the story, from coloured smoke flares to their first dance.
GETTING READY
Amandine closes her eyes during makeup, then people close to her help her into her dress and fasten the buttons. I photograph hands adjusting the fabric and hair, alongside conversations in the room. Théo also gets help with his shirt and bow tie. Individual portraits complete these scenes before their arrival at the outdoor ceremony.
THE CIVIL CEREMONY
For the civil wedding, Amandine wears a flowing dress and Théo a grey suit. Seated side by side at the town hall, they listen before signing the registers. The photographs move from hands and signatures to their faces, then the kiss and exit onto the steps. This gallery records their civil ceremony in different outfits from those worn for the outdoor ceremony.
SECULAR CEREMONY
White chairs face a pergola decorated with pampas grass. Amandine and Théo each arrive accompanied, then read their vows at the microphone in front of their guests. I change viewpoint to show the speaker and listener, hands during the exchange of rings and reactions among the guests. They leave beneath petals, surrounded by their loved ones.
Moments for Two in the Lavender
Rows of lavender shape Amandine and Théo’s portraits. We alternate between walking along the path, sitting and closer portraits. I position them in relation to the sun and guide their movements. Amandine runs her hand above the flowers; Théo holds a sprig of lavender between his lips. The dress, green suit and evening light give this series its colours.
THE COCKTAIL & THE EVENING
At the drinks reception, trays circulate and loved ones gather for group photographs. The gallery includes embraces, conversations with Amandine and a series with coloured smoke flares outdoors. Inside, the newlyweds make their entrance. The croquembouche arrives with sparklers, followed by Amandine and Théo’s first dance beneath confetti. I photograph the party close to the people taking part.
