SABINE & JONATHAN WEDDING IN THE ALPILLES
Sabine and Jonathan married in Châteaurenard. Their couple portraits were taken in Les Baux-de-Provence, in the Alpilles. These galleries follow the preparations, outdoor ceremony and celebrations with their guests, with a separate series among the village’s stone lanes and rocks.
THE PREPARATIONS
The dress hanging in an olive tree, Sabine’s makeup and the buttons being fastened down her back: the story begins before the guests gather. With Jonathan, someone close to him helps adjust his bow tie and buttonhole. I photograph these gestures close up, then the people around them, keeping both the chosen details and the atmosphere of the preparations.
THE CEREMONY
Sabine walks between the guests before the readings and speeches begin beneath the trees. Jonathan smiling at the microphone, Sabine in tears in her chair, their kiss and embraces with guests tell the story of this outdoor ceremony in Châteaurenard. I also photograph the guests: their reactions belong in the story alongside what happens at the arch.
PHOTOS OF COUPLES
Sabine and Jonathan’s portraits take us through the lanes and beside the rocks of Les Baux-de-Provence. An archway, steps, stone façades and the rocky landscape change the view as we walk. For your wedding, I plan the time around the light and refine the location on arrival. I give simple guidance on movement and placement to help you find your bearings.
GROUPS & COCKTAILS
Sabine and Jonathan are lifted by their friends and family before joining them around the saxophonist and on the dance floor. This gallery includes both group portraits and the moments when everyone relaxes. I plan the order of the group photographs with you; once people gather, there is still room for their ideas and the way they interact.
THE EVENING
Glasses and party accessories pass between guests. Sabine and Jonathan laugh together, followed by dancing and the cake. I photograph the couple and the people celebrating around them, moving between wider views of the room and portraits from within the party.
